RESUMO:

In the face of the growing challenge represented by the increasing use of pesticides in agriculture and the need to mitigate the impacts related to this practice, this study aims to contribute to the advancement of the goals set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its emphasis is centered on sustainable water management, efficiency in waste management, and the preservation of biodiversity and terrestrial ecosystems. By focusing on the use of sugarcane bagasse-derived biochar impregnated with metallic salts for the remediation of water contaminated with pesticides, the study integrates experimental and theoretical approaches.The comprehensive literature review highlights the effectiveness of biochars in pesticide adsorption, examining variables such as raw material, pyrolysis conditions, and adsorption mechanisms. Furthermore, it underscores the advantages and challenges of using these materials in real contamination scenarios. The specific section of the study presents methods and partial results, demonstrating the effectiveness of manganese-impregnated biochars in the removal of the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). This work not only contributes to more sustainable practices in the remediation of contaminated water but also provides valuable insights for future research on the synthesis and application of adsorbent biochars.
